Venus Amezcua, LMSW
Hello everyone, my name is Venus! I am excited to join the team here at Coastal Family Health. A brief history of my experience involves working with different populations of individuals within the community. I have previously worked as a victim’s advocate, I have worked with individuals experiencing homelessness and I have worked as a children’s therapist, all of which have given me insight into different areas of social work practice. I have a Masters degree in Public Administration, with a focus in justice systems, as well as a Masters degree in Social Work from Tulane University and a graduate certificate in mental health, addiction and family from Tulane.
I have a passion for advocacy, social justice, and diversity. I believe it is essential to create a safe space for clients so that they can have the best experience possible during their healing journey. I strive to be a dedicated social worker that fosters compassion, empathy and understanding to clients from all backgrounds, and as a behavioral health specialist, I aim to promote positive change with clients while also upholding inclusivity.
