Dr. Larekia Brown is a dedicated General Dentist specializing in preventive care, restorative procedures, and sports dentistry, with a strong commitment to community oral health. Dr. Brown earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery, as well as certificates in Public Health and Health Policy, from Meharry Medical College after completing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Tougaloo College, a Master of Biomedical Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and a Master of Health Sciences from Meharry.
Her diverse background includes experience as a general dentist at a federally qualified health center, as well as previous work in molecular diagnostics and public health. Throughout her career, Dr. Brown has remained committed to expanding access to quality oral healthcare through clinical excellence, research, education, and community service.
A National Health Service Corps Scholar, Health Policy Fellow, and recipient of the Brian D. Stone Memorial Award, Dr. Brown is committed to advancing oral health equity and education through research, public outreach, and volunteer activities. As a Certified Team/Sports Dentist, she is passionate about preventing sports-related dental injuries through education and intervention.
She actively participates in professional organizations such as the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Academy for Sports Dentistry, the National Dental Association, and the Mississippi Dental Association to stay current with the latest advancements in Dentistry. Outside of the office, she loves spending time with her dog, traveling, and adding to her ever-growing sneaker collection.
