Coastal Family Health Center (CFHC) has received $40,000 in grant funding from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation to expand access to oral health services and strengthen preventive dental care for children and adults throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The funding will support efforts to bring high-quality oral health services and preventive screenings closer to those who need it most, with a particular focus on identifying dental and oral health concerns early and connecting patients with appropriate care.
Through this investment, CFHC will enhance its ability to provide comprehensive oral health services through new equipment, and expand its dental offerings to include oral health screenings at the school-based health clinics and oral cancer screenings through the medical mobile unit. These vital screenings will help identify individuals who may need additional evaluation or treatment and provide pathways to follow-up care.
“Oral health care is an important part of overall health and well-being. We are grateful to the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation for recognizing the importance and seeing the need of bringing these services directly to the community,” said Clarke M. Allen, DDS, Director of Dental Services at Coastal Family Health Center. “This funding allows us to strengthen prevention and increase connection to care so that more children and adults have the opportunity to maintain healthy smiles and address concerns before they become more serious.”
The grant from the Delta Dental Community Care Foundation represents an investment not only in immediate access to oral health services, but also in CFHC’s long-term efforts to build sustainable community partnerships and provide quality, comprehensive, patient-centered care throughout the region.
